Introducing Our Executive Editor
jess*ca mae worked on her first publication over fifteen years ago when contributing to her high school’s creative writing and art magazine. At that time she submitted illustrative art and writing to the magazine and helped to compile it contents and publication production; so it is no surprise that while her official position is executive editor with Pagan Edge™ she also works as layout designer, ad designer, and contributing writer. When wishing to start her own publication someday, jess*ca wondered how she would do so without conflicting with the publications for which she is already working, “When my good friend Eberhardt approached me with starting an online Pagan magazine, it seemed like the perfect niche: something world-wide, with a specific audience, and web-based… Plus, I get to manifest this dream with a group of really amazing and talented people. I put the energy out there, the universe listened, and I feel truly blessed.”
Considering herself a creative soul, jess*ca has been interested in the visual arts and writing for as long as she can remember. Earning her B.F.A. at Kendall College (Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.A.) naturally led her to working in the printing, publishing, and marketing field as a graphic designer and consultant where she eventually started her own company helping businesses with their company identity and website creation. She also grew up loving nature and religion, “I remember hearing God in the wind, and thinking that hugging trees was like hugging God, but my catechism disagreed.” She resolved this conflict by claiming agnosticism until she discovered the pagan path which she continues to walk and explore everyday with her husband, two kittehs, and circle family in West Michigan.
